How to Wash Your Vehicle

Your car deserves the best care to maintain its pristine appearance and protect its value.

In this blog post, we will give you pointers on essential techniques for washing your vehicle to achieve that showroom shine!

From choosing the right location to using the correct tools and methods, we'll guide you through the process step by step.

1. Gather Your Supplies:

  • Car wash soap
  • Two buckets (one for soapy water, one for rinsing)
  • Microfiber wash mitt or sponge
  • Soft-bristle brush for wheels
  • Hose
  • Wheel cleaner
  • Drying towels

2. Choose the Right Location:

  • Ideally, wash your car in a shaded area or during the early morning or late evening to avoid direct sunlight. This prevents soap from drying too quickly, leaving residue on your vehicle.

3. Pre-Rinse:

  • Use a hose to pre-rinse your vehicle, removing loose dirt and contaminants.

4. Two-Bucket Method:

  • Fill one bucket with soapy water and another with clean water for rinsing. Dip your wash mitt or sponge in the soapy water, wash a section of your car, then rinse it in the clean water before reloading with soap.

5. Start from the Top:

  • Begin washing from the top of your vehicle and work your way down. This prevents dirt from the top areas settling onto the lower parts you've already cleaned.

6. Wheels Last:

  • Save the wheels and tires for last. Use a separate wash mitt or soft-bristle brush and a designated wheel cleaner to avoid spreading brake dust to the rest of your car.

7. Rinse Thoroughly:

  • After washing, rinse your vehicle thoroughly with clean water, ensuring all soap is removed.

8. Never Let your Vehicle Sun Dry:

  • This is a golden rule. Never let your vehicle air-dry in the sun. Sunlight can cause water spots, leaving mineral deposits on your vehicles surface. Instead, use a microfiber drying towel to gently dry your vehicle, starting from the top.

By following these techniques for washing your vehicle, you can achieve a pristine finish that enhances its appearance and protects its value.

Remember to wash your vehicle regularly and avoid letting it sun dry to maintain that showroom shine for years to come!
